Update! (And some TWEWY love~)
It is I
Hello everyoneeeee!!~ (^人^)
How are you guys?
Me?
My summer has been quite uneventful, I must say....
I WASN'T ABLE TO GO TO OZINE FEST ASDFGHJKL (T^T)
AND MY SUMMER WAS NOT SPENT WISELYYYY
Well anyways, let's forget about that because I don't want to remember that another year of indirect mental torture studying draws near... Σ(゚д゚lll)
So yeah. Recently, a friend introduced me to this game called The World Ends With You (Abbreviated as TWEWY).
AND I AM CURRENTLY VERY ADDICTED TO IT. ( * u * )
|
Characters from left to right: Joshua, Neku, Beat (on top), Shiki, Rhyme |
I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THE GAME. LIKE, SERIOUSLY.
The characters, the art, the soundtracks -- I love them all! I love the story line, too (and the fact that Square Enix is one of the game's developers >u< I like most of Square Enix's works~)!
Anyways, TWEWY is set in a Shibuya. Neku Sakuraba (a.k.a. main character, and the one you'll be controlling), an antisocial and emo-ish teenage boy wakes up at Scramble Crossing (a place in Shibuya) without any recollection of any of his memories or of what happened to him (in short, he has an amnesia at a very convenient time. Sigh... main characters... *shakes head*).
He wanders around and a girl (named Shiki) ran to him and suddenly asked him to make a pact with her. Of course, if you had amnesia then it would be troubling, no? Shiki explained to Neku that they were in the Reapers' Game and they have to make a pact if they want to survive, and fight Noise (the "monsters" in the game), ect. ect. ect.
Well... that's kinda how it started.
And here's the setting and themes of the story, according to the Wiki:
The setting of The World Ends with You is heavily based on the Japanese city of Shibuya, including major landmarks like the Scramble Crossing. It even has the same currency, Yen (¥), which is used in shops. Many elements of the game are also based on Japanese culture, including the food, fashion and artwork in the game.
This game makes me want to go visit Shibuya someday!~ ^_^
Anyways, if I were asked who my favourite character was... I probably can't decide. Each character is really awesome. (But I am a bit into Joshua right now. He's sly and mysterious and Ikindathinkheisabitcoolokdontjudgeme) (>//u//<)
But I'm kinda into Beat as well... He's quite entertaining and he's a bit tsundere~ Oh what to do, what do do...? #fangirlproblems
And! I thought Rhyme was a boy... But she's actually a girl! I was surprised~ >u< She kinda looked boyish... But heck. She's cool.
Oh, and Rhyme is Beat's sister! But Rhyme does not know because her memories are Beat's entrance fee!
^ Spoilerrrr >_< Highlight if you want to see it ^_^
And Neku! Such character growth! He used to be sooooooooooooo emo, but as the game progresses, he becomes a better person <3 (also, I like his outfit)
AND
I kinda like Sho Minamimoto, the second week's game master. (Yes, there was a second week.
... Oops. Spoiler >_<)
I don't know why I even like him. His statements are too vague and cryptic, and he always cracks math jokes (hence his nickname, Pi-Face). And I suck at math >_>
But then again, all the characters in the game are likable.
... Well, Neku might be a bit annoying at first but he gets better ^_^
Also, the battles... Yes, they were very challenging indeed. That's a very steep mountain you'll have climb before you'll be able to be an expert at it. Honestly, they intimidated me at first. Controlling two characters is no easy task. But, you'll get used to it after playing long enough, I guess.
I TOTALLY RECOMMEND THIS GAME
I RATE IT FIVE OUT OF FIVE
Anyways, I do think this game is very very good. It's worth a try~
On a side note, I started watching
Brothers Conflict a couple of days ago (I'm currently on episode 4)...
I can't believe I'm actually jealous of Ema! >.< I kinda like Fuuto, Louis, Yusuke and Subaru... Huehuehuehuehue >_<
So.. I guess that's it for today! Thank you everyone for reading, if you still are~ Sorry for being fangirl-y today >_<
See you guys next time! ( ^-^)/

The Blogmistress
A brief introduction of Her Royal Weirdness
Hello everyone, I go by Cossette— welcome to my blog! I'm a nineteen-year-old Chinese-Filipino law student studying abroad in Australia. I like to obsess over musicals, edgy memes, and general geekery. I spend most of my time sorting through syllabi for my classes, baking cookies, or lurking on Reddit. Since I'm on break from university however, I have also began binge watching lots and lots of shows on Netflix (what's a girl to do, after all?)
I am also that girl who is too emotional for my own good, and has a sad penchant for laughing (at myself, usually). Alas, perhaps my own peculiarity has scared off potential friends, but who cares? Someday, I will find my kin, my madcap ilk. But until then, I'll be sticking around here ┐(︶▽︶)┌

About The Blog
A description of my little corner of the blogosphere
This digital abode of mine was established back in August 2013 as a requirement for my participation in our high school's blogging club. Thus, I scrambled to create one, The Random Thoughts of A Socially-Awkward Optimist— the very website that you are currently viewing. I've long since quit (not to mention
graduated from high school), but typing away my thoughts in this blog is rather therapeutic, and I like thinking that perhaps a smile has made its way onto someone's face because of what I write :)
“Sonder” is probably the best word that would describe all reasons why I maintain this blog. The word can be briefly defined as the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own, and through this blog, I wish to be able to satiate that feeling in other people by retelling my anecdotes, thoughts, and rants, and hopefully I would also be able to lift up spirits along the way.
Life moves on and change is constant. But I want to document my experiences somehow: those ugly-crying moments, existential crises, or tears of joy and sadness. Then once change runs its course, we can all look back at these moments and laugh at our own naiveté. And hopefully, I can do just that by typing it all away in this blog.
The Jukebox
Current aesthetic: quiet holiday mornings, the smell of Christmas in the air
A little disclaimer: I don't own nor make money off of any of these songs, it's all just for a little good fun and mood-setting lol
These are the music playing in the blog. I hope you like listening to it as much as I do ◕ ‿ ◕ Simply click on the title of the song, and it will direct you to where I got it ❤
